Practice Areas: commercial and residential real estate

Ms. Zimmer joined the firm in 1973. Her practice includes all facets of commercial and residential real estate law. She represents developers, financial institutions and individual purchasers and sellers of real estate properties ranging in size from individual apartments to office buildings and multi-building projects. Her practice has included structuring new residential and commercial condominiums; representing converters in cooperative and condominium conversions; and restructuring projects for financial institutions which have foreclosed on condominium or homeowners' association projects or the purchasers from such financial institutions. Ms. Zimmer also represents major institutions, small companies and individuals in commercial leasing transactions, both for landlords and tenants.
Some specific examples of Ms. Zimmer's work include:
    • representing a prominent New York real estate firm as sponsor in the conversion of a major Manhattan apartment building to a "condop" containing commercial and residential condominium units and a cooperative of over 500 apartments within the residential condominium unit
    • creation of one of the first prototype life care services offering plans under the New York State Condominium Act
    • representing a major developer in structuring and filing an offering plan for a hotel condominium
    • representing a major New York Stock Exchange REIT in the acquisition of thirteen shopping centers in five states in a single transaction
    • leasing substantial professional condominium unit space to a New York City hospital

Ms. Zimmer is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York State Bar Association (Section of Real Property Law, Committee on Condominiums and Cooperatives), American Bar Association and belongs to the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW).
