Practice Areas: general commercial litigation | bankruptcy | commercial law Mr. Kipnis joined the firm in 1992. His commercial litigation practice includes complex bankruptcy matters, contractual and licensing disputes, insurance coverage, patent and trademark litigation, real estate, including foreclosure of major commercial loans, leasing disputes, construction disputes, employment disputes, brokerage claims, securities fraud, insurance litigation and banking disputes under the Uniform Commercial Code. He practices in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania State courts and in various U.S. Bankruptcy and U.S. District Courts. Mr Kipnis has an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Several years ago, Mr. Kipnis was appointed special counsel for the McCrory retailers, a debtor-in-possession. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Kipnis directed the McCrory’s bankruptcy, including its bankruptcy court and other litigation and disposed of over 100 leases and multiple parcels of owned real property. More recently, Mr. Kipnis has been retained by Dollar Tree Stores, the nation’s leading single price point variety retailer with over 3000 stores nationwide as its distressed properties acquisition counsel. Mr. Kipnis further represents Dollar Tree on various real estate related transactional and litigation matters throughout the country. Mr. Kipnis successfully confirmed a Chapter 11 Liquidation Plan of Reorganization for a bankrupt technology development company. While at Hofstra Law School, Mr. Kipnis was a member of the Hofstra Law Review and graduated with distinction. Mr. Kipnis is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is the firm's computer/technology expert. From 1992 through 2001, Mr. Kipnis had been President of a 25-unit homeowner's association located in Long Island, New York. |
