Practice Areas: commercial and residential real estate | general business Mr. Gross joined the firm in 1960. He primarily counsels business entrepreneurs, may of whom are in the real estate industry. He represents them in connection with financial and general business matters and is involved in the purchase, development, management, leasing, financing, exchange and sale of real estate, and the conversion of rental properties to cooperatives. The properties involved include office buildings, apartment houses, shopping centers and industrial office parks. He also represents clients in the acquisition, syndication and management of New York subsidized housing projects. Mr. Gross represents executors, and has himself served as executor, of an estate with major real estate holdings. He has also been involved as an attorney and executor in the management and orderly liquidation of real estate holdings worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He is a member of boards of foundations with significant real estate interests and provides legal and business advice to these foundations. While at Cornell University Law School, Mr. Gross was an editor of the Cornell Law Quarterly and authored articles appearing in the Quarterly. Mr. Gross is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, New York State Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association (former member, Ethics Committee). He enjoys an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Gross has served on a Nassau County Charter Revision Commission and on the Nassau County Planning Commission. In addition, he has served as Chairman of the Board of the Education Assistance Center, a major social service agency in Nassau County and has been a member of the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion. |
